Sian Jarvis CB Joins Curia’s Advisory Board

Sian Jarvis

Curia is pleased to announce that Sian Jarvis CB has joined its Advisory Board and Health, Care and Life Sciences Research Group.

Sian brings extensive experience from across government, the NHS, public services, and the life sciences sector. As Director of Communications at the Department of Health and NHS, she advised five Health Secretaries, including Andy Burnham and Alan Milburn.

Her appointment follows Curia’s recent Burnham Briefing, which brought together former members of Andy Burnham’s ministerial and mayoral teams to consider what his record could tell us about the approach and priorities of the new government.

Sian’s expertise in leadership, strategic communications, and public trust will support Curia’s work to develop practical, evidence-led recommendations for reform across health, care and wider public policy.

Rt Hon Andrew Stephenson CBE, Chair of Curia’s Health, Care and Life Sciences Research Group, said:

“We are delighted to welcome Sian Jarvis to Curia’s Health, Care and Life Sciences Research Group. Sian brings exceptional experience from across government, including the Department of Health, the NHS and the life sciences sector, alongside a deep understanding of how leadership, communications and public trust shape successful reform.

“Sian’s insight will be invaluable as Curia continues to develop practical, evidence-led recommendations for the future of health and care.”

Over the summer, Curia will work with its members and partners to feed ideas into the new Number 10 and ministerial teams. This will include preparations for its work on the forthcoming Health Bill, commissioned by UK Healthcare and Life Sciences Innovation.

To mark her appointment, Sian has written an exclusive opinion article for Politics UK.

Drawing on previously unpublished diary entries from her time working with Andy Burnham, she examines his leadership style, approach to reform and longstanding focus on prevention, social care, devolution and public trust.
